Georgia on my mind
(Justin is the one in the middle)
Well, it's my last P-day in the MTC. It's gone super fast but I've enjoyed it for the most part.
Some stuff I forgot to mention last week. Dallin H. Oakes came for
the Tuesday night devotional and gave an awesome talk about Preach My
Gospel. I don't remember anything specific that he said because he
mostly quoted out of the Book. But it was cool nonetheless.
I need to be better about keeping my journal because the days here
all run together and you can't remember what happened on what days. Our
Tuesday night Devotional was Elder Kearon of the presidency of the
seventy came and spoke to us. His talk was super
awesome, he shared his conversion story and spoke about how important
missionary work is. I don't know if you guys can find the devotionals on
lds.org
but if you can I'd watch that one.
Afterwards our district got to discuss it with our branch President.
President Samuelin is absolutely amazing. He is super in tune with the
spirit and always knows exactly what to say to the branch. I hope I can
be that cool one day.
I got sick this week. Not too terribly bad but I had an awful
headache and cough when I woke up and so did 2 of the other Elders in my
room. So we stayed in that morning and rested until the afternoon
class. But other than that it's been great. I found
out that I'm a beast at 4 square and I was kicking all the other Elders
butts. So that was fun. On Wednesday we got to host the new Elders and
it was really interesting to be on the non-crying end of dropping off
missionaries. But I got to reassure their moms
that they were in a great place.
I also got what is quite possibly the best package I have ever
received in my life. Fun fact about the MTC: there is no caffeinated
soda. It's sort of like BYU, except we CAN'T LEAVE TO GET IT. You can
imagine my joy to find 2 cases of Dr. Pepper waiting
for me. There was Taco Bell as well, but they threw that away because it
would have gone bad by the time I could get to it. It's okay, I'll get
some at the airport.
