Saturday is a special day, it's the day before day before P day!

Mom note: Catch-up Post #2
12/4/17
Hey Everyone! It seems like it's been forever since I last emailed. I don't know why, but the last two weeks have seemed to crawl by super slowly. Maybe I'm just excited to be finished with my first 12 weeks. Today marks the start of my last week of my training, so I'll probably lose Elder Lee soon. Transfers are on his birthday, so I hope whatever happens is good news for him.

Anyways, I've found that I can never really remember events, as much as I can the lessons I learned from them. So in no particular order, here's some things that happened this past week.

I went on an exchange with Elder Chuang from Taiwan. He speaks really really fluent mandarin because that's his first language. His English on the other hand, not as good. That was the longest day ever. I will never ever judge Elder Lee for the way he speaks ever again. It also taught me that people have different struggles, and different strengths. For example, Elder Chuang is very humble and very good at laughing at his mistakes. He never lets them hinder his work. If he messes up, he simply apologises and moves on. Pretty cool.

We did the Book of Mormon experiment at GGC this past week. Elder Lee and I were put in charge of it because we are "the most well-equipped to street contact." We do it for at least 8 hours a week, so I'd hope we were decent at it. It was really cool to see a bunch of people from all sorts of faiths and backgrounds finding things they like in the Book of Mormon. I got some great photos, unfortunately I was one of the few people taking photos. There aren't any of me contacting someone and doing the experiment with them. I promise I talked to like 40 people at least. I worked hard. I'll send some of them so you can see how cool it was.

Last thing for this week came from Zone conference. Elder Weatherford T. Clayton of the Seventy came and spoke to us. He said something that I liked.
"If you think enduring to the end is hard to do, repent and sin no more."
He then went on to explain that it's a joyful experience to be able to endure to the end. Every step of the way, no matter how difficult to take, is one step we take closer to where we want to be.

That's all for this week,
Elder Bates

All of the pictures are from the Book of Mormon Experiment except for 1, which is from dinner that night. Enjoy.
